a subtractive 2023
i find that i continually add stuff to my plate. i get very excited about something new, as i bounce from thing to thing, in two to three week cycles.
but what if i just stuck with something for six months? a year? five years? what if i used the tools/apps/fightsticks/games/clothes before searching for something new? what if i stopped putting myself further and further into debt?
it's a cycle that has been pretty continuous for the last five or so years, so what if i just stopped? knocked it off? settled down? stepped back?
typically i've tried to "prepare" for change and, while i'm not so sure that it's the best approach (hasn't been so far), i'm going to do it again. this time tho, i feel more clarity in my aim.
so in two weeks' time, i'm done (i hope). done accumulating and done seeking some new tool/app/fightstick/game/clothes. i want to sit in with the shit that i own, i want to be a better, stronger runner, and i want to be a better member of the FGC. i also want to get out of debt. sure, there will always be wants (they're never-ending), but it's a cycle that has to break.
i bet it'll be messy for a bit, but you gotta suck at something before you can get good at it, right?
