diderotic?

I recently learned about the Didero Effect. Simply put, when Diderot was gifted a new gown, he plunged himself into debt attempting to complement this expensive item with other, similarly-expensive "stuff".

While I won't say this is the exact reason I've plunged myself into debt (more on that in subsequent posts), I can say that this exposes a behavior I think I have. Got a new black shirt? Might as well make my whole wardrobe black. Got a new PC component? Upgrade it all. It's been this way again and again throughout the last decade and it's put me into a hole that I don't want to be in any longer.
